The Frank Lloyd Wright designed Kalita Humphreys Theater

My Grandpa, Bill Carner. The 'Builder's Builder'.  His Beck Construction crew made this one-of-a-kind structure happen.  A building designed with NO right angles.   The City of Dallas, along with many architectural and construction experts, questioned if it could be completed.   My Grandpa and FLW's young apprentice from Taliesin West, Kelly Oliver, knew it could be done - on budget.  The color photos are original 1959 Kodachrome slides from Grandpa's camera.
The un-retouched film and prints were scanned to share in 2009, 50 years after this momumental project was underway. Many thanks to Mr. Oliver for sharing his memories and stories with all of us as we toured the property and theater.
The spirit of FLW and my Grandpa walked with us.
